About

OUR MISSION

The mission of The Rory David Deutsch Foundation is to eradicate pediatric brain tumors and other devastating childhood diseases as well as to make a difference in the lives of afflicted children and their families. It accomplishes these purposes by:

RESEARCH

Funding medical research and programs.

ENGAGEMENT

Creating opportunities to engage young people and adults in activities that can make a positive difference in their lives.

AWARENESS

Increasing public awareness of the Foundation’s mission.

Toward eradicating pediatric brain-stem gliomas, the Foundation will develop at least two, and no more than three, relationships with prestigious medical research centers for the purpose of promoting research in the field of brain-stem gliomas. At this time, the Foundation has formed productive relationships with The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. These partnerships are resulting in ground-breaking research on brain-stem gliomas.

In line with its “Small Planet: Kids Making a Difference” directive, the Foundation will seek to support activities that promote the positive development of children and youth. It will now seek to create even more opportunities for young people. These opportunities will combine their involvement in recreational and/or other extra-curricular activities with charitable efforts that promote the well being of their peers.

Overall, in the coming years, The Rory David Deutsch Foundation plans to build on its key strength—the incredible support and enthusiasm of its volunteer network—and seek out opportunities for making children and their families happier and healthier.
