In years past I have played 100 holes of golf, in one day to raise funds to help the fight against pediatric Brain Cancer. I have not done this since 2007, because I felt bad asking for donations at a time when so many people were struggling. Thanks to the persuasion of one of my largest donators, I will once again be playing the 100 holes to help fight this terrible disease.
In 2007 with your help, I raised just under $40,000, in this one day event. Therefore, my goal this year is to top that and come close to $50,000. To get the ball rolling, I will be donating $80 for every birdie, $50 for every double bogey or worse, and $100 for every eagle (its ok to dream). If I don't par the 100th hole I will kick in another $200. I have already had a few people say they will match my donations. You can sponsor me by the hole, by the score, or a lump sum amount. Please know that any donation, you choose to make will be greatly appreciated by both the foundation, and myself.
All the donations should be made out to the Rory David Deutsch foundation, RoryD.org, Who has funded and endowed programs at both, The Brain Tumor Center at Duke, and Children's Memorial Hospital, each of those institutions support research into the causes & treatments of pediatric brain tumors.
This year I will be playing on Sept. 6th (the day after Labor day) at Twin Orchard country club in Long Grove. Thank you for all your past and future support, hopefully we can make a difference for our children, and our children's, children.
Thank you,
Barry Bakal
